Forever Family

Two years ago today we were sealed to Caden in the Mesa Arizona Temple. We have the greatest memories of him all in white, like a little angel, looking up at us with a great big smile. We are so blessed to have an Eternal family and to know we will be together forever..I Love That!!!
You will not believe it, but we forgot our camera that day!! I took this picture of him in his sealing/blessing outfit a couple days before when we bought it. He was just the cutest chunkiest little 6 month old with the brightest personality!! We love you Caden!!!

9/10/07

So this week's memory is from Four years ago when we turned our adoption papers into LDS Family Services. We were so excited to be starting this new journey but also recovering from the heartache of trying so many years for a child. Brian and I were beyond ready to bring a child into our home and wanted to do everything we could to do so. When we first saw the amounts of paperwork and forms we had to fill out, I was completely overwhelmed, but also focused on the outcome. It took us a month to fill out forms, answer parenting surveys, fingerprinting and complete background checks. We were certified to be adoptive parents a month after that. We feel blessed that we were able to experience that process. It was very time consuming but when we received that approval, it made it all worth it. Now the waiting was the hardest part. You who know me know I am not a patient person and I don't like to wait. This was a hard lesson for me to learn, But also made me much more grateful for our sweet little boy who came to our family 15 months later.
Adoption has blessed our lives beyond measure. We will forever be grateful for the option to have a family through adoption. Caden was meant to come to our family, he was meant to be our son. I believe we had to go through that trial to bring him to us. We love our birthmother and will always love her for her sacrifice, courage and love for Caden.
I love and cherish our adoption story and I'm sure I'll talk more on this again.

The first of many fun dates

So I was thinking about how young me and Brian were when we met and how "mature" we thought we were! Here's a little flashback from our "mature" courtship!

So this is our first date:
Date: July 30, 1999
Place:Hong Kong Island
Items:egg drop soup and white rice
Lyndsie: just turned 18 two days prior and still has braces, nice:)
Brian: just turned 22 six days prior and has no idea what he's gotten himself into...i mean how lucky he was to be with me:)

So The lady brings us egg drop soup for like an appetizer, i dunno, so I start dry heaving because it looks like snot. The rice is on the table so I start throwing small amounts of rice in his soup, no harm done. So he starts to throw it back and hence a food fight in a one star (maybe 1/2 star) restaurant. In Brian's defense he had never been there either and it was recommended by some one so he didn't take me to a dump for our first date knowingly.
K so that is how it all began.....awww
*oh and by the way, Hong Kong Island was closed down like 6 months later....ya about the time we got married:) One dream shut down and another just beginning!! Now it's been almost 8 years and still as young and in love as we were back then!!

Have a happy Labor Day!!!!!
